The Concept of UI/UX Design

Although the concepts of UI/UX design have been known for quite some time, the relevance and wide popularity of these terms only emerged in the early 21st century. This was due to the gradual introduction of IT technologies and electronic devices into all layers of society. Any modern popular digital product, regardless of the platform it was developed for, has a specific interface for user interaction. One of the important criteria influencing the success of such a digital product is its broad functional capabilities, which are capable of solving the needs of a large group of users, as well as ease of use. Therefore, to perfectly combine user comfort with the product's effectiveness for the end user, web developers and software engineers use UI/UX design. Let's take a closer look at what UI and UX design are and their differences.

UI Design

UI design refers to the visual design of the interface of a digital product. It includes all elements displayed on the screen and may include: • Icons; • Photos; • Animations; • Various types of menus; • Fonts; • Illustrations; • Forms; • Buttons; • Colors of individual elements or areas.

The main task of UI designers is to visually develop the interface of a digital product in such a way that users do not encounter difficulties in understanding the actions provided by the interface. To achieve this, UI designers use specialized tools and follow the guidelines set by corporations like Google and Apple, which establish general interface concepts for third-party developers.

UX Design

UX design is the process of developing the interface of a digital product based on statistical data about user actions. The main goal of a UX designer is to thoroughly study users and their experiences, and based on this information, create the simplest and most comfortable interface for the digital product, ensuring that users have positive and pleasant experiences with the product.

Important aspects of UX design include: • Thoroughly studying the needs of the target audience; • Developing strategies based on statistical data and other solid arguments; • Creating a prototype of the interface considering all possible user interaction scenarios with the digital product; • Coordinating the general project concept with UI designers for full harmony; • Testing multiple versions of the product to determine which one is preferred by users.

UX designers not only study user needs but also analyze digital products from competing companies. Based on the collected information, they develop their own concept.

Conclusion

Now that you are familiar with the terms UI and UX design, let's summarize and define the differences between UI and UX design. The difference lies in the fact that UI design is responsible for the visual aspect of the digital product's user interface, while UX design focuses on its functionality.
